Abstract:To examine the influence of rural broadband construction on rural 红宝石hbs0022 migration, this article establishes a 红宝石hbs0022 migration model and uses the policy impact 红宝石hbs0022 "Broadband Village" 红宝石hbs0022 and the "Universal Telecommunications Service" pilot 红宝石hbs0022. Using the difference-in-differences method, the 2013 and 2018 rural household survey data were analyzed. The study found that rural broadband construction 红宝石hbs0022 promotes rural 红宝石hbs0022 migration. This effect is more pronounced among groups with lower migration costs (lower family support and care burden) and higher expected migration wages (males, adult 红宝石hbs0022, and higher education level). In terms of migration 红宝石hbs0022, inter-provincial migration within the same province has increased 红宝石hbs0022, and people are more likely to migrate to the provincial capital. The analysis 红宝石hbs0022 influence mechanism found that rural broadband construction 红宝石hbs0022ed the work search 红宝石hbs0022 of rural residents, reducing the search 红宝石hbs0022, promoting self-employment and small-scale entrepreneurship, and increasing the use of mobile 红宝石hbs0022ones to obtain information. This study shows that broadband construction further promotes rural 红宝石hbs0022 migration by relaxing the limitations of geogra红宝石hbs0022ic distance on information flow and acquisition.
